Diebold Nixdorf is an American corporation that provides solutions for the production, sale, installation, and servicing of self-service transaction systems (i.e. ATM’s and POS terminals), physical and electronic safety products (such as safes and foreign currency processing systems), software, and professional services related to global financial and commercial markets.

The challenge

Due to the constant need to improve our operational processes and strengthen our security measures both internally and for our customers, over the past 4 years, we have devoted ourselves to making sure our personnel selection processes adhere to the strictest standards. That is why we hired Midot’s services.

Solution

Throughout this period, we applied more than 10,000 tests, amongst integriTEST and TRUSTEE in 10 different countries. We implemented a more robust selection process, which contributed to making people realize that being selected to work in our company is not simple. Our hiring process includes a filter that measures ethics and adherence to policies and procedures – features we deem to be essential for every new hire. Candidates applying to work with us must be aware of this commitment before, during, and, more importantly, after the selection process.

We have established a strict working environment under this same premise, which is aligned to the policies, compliance, and ethics processes that employees face once they are admitted into the company. When people are aware of the importance of these issues early in the selection and promotion process, it becomes easier for them to adhere to ethics, data protection, fraud prevention, and conflict of interest procedures we teach.

Nowadays, our customers transform themselves to face the world’s digital consumer demand. Therefore, it is crucial for us to show that our company is ready to meet this challenge and is able to meet our customers’ needs in a completely safe environment. Helping to improve our consumer experience means that our own people are prepared and ready to achieve this goal.

Results

We have accomplished several objectives using Midot’s tools:

1) Determine and prove that ethics, policy and procedure compliance, and transparency, are key features of our operations.

2) Even when there have been very few incidents of counterproductive behaviors by our staff, we have managed to considerably reduce complaints, objections and internal conflicts.

3) The spirit of integrity and adherence to rules is always present in our people’s common language.

4) Whenever our customers make a formal audit of our processes, they can certify the validity of the work performed using Midot tools, according to their own standards.
